MK:Smart’s Community Action: MK team attended the city’s first ever Big Green Day at Stadium:MK last Saturday (18 April).
The event was intended to encourage people to take alternative transport to the venue ahead of the MK Dons’ 6-1 defeat of Leyton Orient. There were many stall holders that attended including The Parks Trust, Ark Farm, Festive Road and MKFM, along with many others. The team posed 3 hot topics to citizens at the event to gauge their views:
- The Transport Challenge: Lots of us in MK are highly dependent on cars to get around MK.
- The Water Challenge: Some people would like to know more about their personal water consumption and what they can do to conserve it.
- The Energy Challenge: The energy sector is complex and we sometimes need help understanding our bills.
Attendees had fun exploring options for approaching all three challenges. We’re encouraging citizens to develop the best ideas into follow-up projects.
