Last Friday a group of MK women met at UCMK to explore design, innovation and start-ups.
Three speakers were invited to share their entrepreneurial experiences. Presenters included Julie Morgan, who had left her job at The Telegraph to become a contractor and dedicate herself to starting her own business, and technologist Kate Logan who advocated investing in yourself when setting up your start-up. The latter is three months into developing her innovative business, Astrolab, a tool which turns tech recruitment on its head.
Attendees at the event, hosted by MK:Smart, included women planning on starting their own businesses. This was a great opportunity for us to engage with local start-ups and promote the commercial benefits of engaging with the MK Data Hub.
