The event was attended by thousands of the UK’s technology leaders and professionals from around the UK. The UK IT awards, run by The Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) and Computing Magazine, are highly acclaimed due to the high contention for each award and the rigour of judging, which involves 2 stages where finalists are interviewed by a panel of industry and academic experts to determine the final winner.  The entry focused on the Data Hub’s importance in enabling Smart City and IoT applications and analytics, using MK:Smart and Stride as the primary use cases. John Wittgreffe from BT and Sarah Gonsalves from Milton Keynes Council presented to the judges.

John Wittgreffe, centre in the photo said “It was a delight and a huge honour to collect this prestigious award, which reflects on the achievements of the entire Data Hub team across BT, OU, and our collaborators”.
