Last week five students from a local school in Bletchley, attended the MK:Smart Graduate Fair with their teacher.
On Wednesday 24th February 2016, five students and their teacher from the Lord Grey School in Bletchley attended the MK:Smart Graduate Fair and STEM event where they had an opportunity to engage with Annika Wolff from the Urban Data School initiative.
Wolff helped the students discover more through data about their environment and discussed the increasing employment opportunities in this area. The students were then given the opportunity to get hands-on with the Milton Keynes heat map, finding their own houses and school to discover whether these appeared to be energy efficient or not.
“It was wonderful to have the opportunity to sit with the students and discuss what data could tell them about the environment and to listen to their ideas.” commented Wolff. “It was also great to collaborate with UCMK at the Grad Fair, to ensure that students of the future will be equipped with the skills that they need”
