Self-driving shuttles coming to Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes City Council and partners secured £2m grant funding for new self-driving shuttle services, part of the StreetCAV project. This aims to install necessary infrastructure for safe operation of autonomous shuttles, robotic, and drone-based services. The project, in collaboration with Smart City Consultancy, will trial the technology before potential nationwide rollout. The funding is part of a £18.5 million government initiative to bolster the UK’s automated supply chain. Self-driving shuttles are expected to be operational by October 2024, with route details forthcoming.
